Fabrication process
First, the metal powder (such as iron-based, copper-based and other alloy powder) is mixed with an appropriate amount of additives (such as lubricant, binder, etc.) evenly, and then put into the mold. Under a certain pressure, the powder is pressed into the desired shape of the body, which is called pressing.
Then the green body is put into a high temperature furnace for sintering. Under the action of high temperature, the diffusion and recrystallization processes occur between the powder particles, so that the particles are connected with each other and form a gear with certain strength and density.
In order to further improve the performance and precision of gears, it is also possible to carry out subsequent processing on sintered gears, such as finishing, oil immersion, surface treatment, etc.
