Powder metallurgy process, mainly due to the lack of toughness, because the metal powder is formed by high temperature sintering, so there may be pores, cracks and other defects in the interior of the part, these defects will reduce the toughness and strength of the part. To solve this problem, scientists have conducted extensive research. One approach is to improve sintering processes, such as using hot pressing sintering, microwave sintering, and other new sintering technologies, to enhance the density and toughness of parts. Another method involves adding alloy elements or performing subsequent heat treatments to improve the mechanical properties of the parts. Overall, powder metallurgy is a manufacturing technology with tremendous potential. Although it still has some issues with toughness, these problems are gradually being addressed through continuous research and improvement. We have every reason to believe that powder metallurgy will play an even greater role in future manufacturing.
